Industrial Maintenance supports major maintenance of Bosscheveld lock

HAAN Industrial, together with L&P and ProfCore part of Koobra Industrial, is a proud supplier contributing to the large-scale maintenance project at Sluis Bosscheveld in Maastricht. The project is being carried out by contractor combination Mourik-SWARCO on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat, with the aim of sustainably renovating the monumental lock - dating from 1930 - and making it ready for the future.

Within this extensive renovation project, among other things, the original lifting doors will be removed, renovated and reinstalled, parts of the lock will be put dry for repairs below the waterline, and the complete drive technology will be modernised. Large, heavy structures and mechanical parts will be renewed or adapted in the process, with low-maintenance and future-proof solutions also chosen, for example. These large-scale interventions form the foundation on which specialist detailed work has to be closely aligned.

HAAN Industrial, together with L&P and ProfCore part of Koobra Industrial, makes an essential contribution at this very level. Working closely with 247 Water Cutting, HAAN Industrial s services included the manufacture of counterweights for the lock gates, totalling more than 160 tonnes of steel. In addition, the lock doors' side guide wheels and truck sets were overhauled, new pressure rails were manufactured and roof frames for roof hatches were produced. All this work requires a high degree of precision, craftsmanship and technical reliability and is carried out according to the high quality requirements of the Department of Public Works.

After renovation, the renovated national monument can be put back into use safely, reliably and future-proof.
