The terms conveyor and conveyor belt are often used interchangeably, which makes sense: they mean virtually the same thing. Conveyor is the English name for a transport system and is often used more broadly in practice. Roller conveyors or roller conveyors are often used in the internal transport of materials or products such as boxes, crates or pallets. They are available in different versions, namely powered roller conveyors, non-powered roller conveyors and accumulating roller conveyors. Each type of roller conveyor is characterised by a number of features.
A chain conveyor, also called chain conveyors, can be used to move both light and heavier products. They are mainly used in the automotive industry or for moving semi-finished products and pallets. Compared to roller conveyors, chain conveyors provide more grip and can therefore handle heavier pallets. However, the conveying speed is almost the same as with roller conveyors.
A conveyor or belt conveyor is flexibly deployable and suitable for many product types. They are mainly used in distribution centres, warehouses and production environments. HAAN Industrial s belt conveyors can be manufactured from both rubber and plastic.
