Meet Vera Since 1 September 2018, Vera has been the first female colleague working in the workshop at HAAN. While studying Social Work, Vera found out that this was not the right direction for her. Through a variety of jobs, she eventually ended up at HAAN.
A creative jack-of-all-trades, Vera prefers working with her hands. At HAAN, she has been given the opportunity to learn on the job. She attends NIL2 level welding training in the evenings while during the day she is taught the tricks of the trade through practical assignments in the workshop.
"It's great to see that you can melt and machine a strong product like metal," says Vera. Among all the "HANEN" in the workshop, Vera feels completely at home. She therefore experiences no resistance, but mostly a lot of help to teach her the trade.
Vera is 27 years old and lives with her boyfriend and six-year-old stepdaughter. For instance, she knows how to make her own bags or purses from leather. She also enjoys making music together with her boyfriend.
