Together with partner Plastic Energy, SABIC is building a plastic recycling plant that will process hard-to-recycle plastic waste into pyrolysis oil. As an alternative to traditional fossil materials to produce new, high-quality, circular polymers. Together with Plastic Energy (a leader in chemical recycling of plastics), SABIC has started a 50-50 joint venture called SABIC Plastic Energy Advanced Recycling B.V. ProfCore is the exclusive partner for putting together a high-quality team, which will start work at the brand-new plant at Chemelot in Geleen. HAAN Industrial Group is supplying maintenance technicians for this new plant.
A year ago, they started building a state-of-the-art plastic recycling plant at Chemelot, where a patented process processes waste plastic that cannot be mechanically recycled into TACOIL™. This oil is then used again in the production process at SABIC, where it is circularly processed into polymers.
Circular economy for plastics
Plant manager John Duys: "Processing plastics into circular raw materials increases the availability of sustainable products and is an important step towards a circular economy for plastics. With a production capacity of 20,000 tonnes of plastic waste per year, the Geleen plant is one of the first to start producing certified circular polymers from plastic waste on a large scale."
Intensive collaboration ProfCore and HAAN again
